Jaden van der Merwe graduated with his LLB from the University of Cape Town in 2025, finishing on the Dean’s List. During his studies, he also competed for the UCT Ikey Tigers and the Western Province junior rugby side.
He later co-founded an AI solutions company, working in the AI space to help businesses implement practical, results-driven technology—before stepping away to focus on his MMA career.
Shortly after hanging up his rugby boots, Jaden began mixed martial arts, became the South African National Champion within a year, turned professional, and has since built a successful career in the EFC.
His first passion remains the law. He has a keen interest in litigation and its competitive edge, and he plans to obtain his rights of appearance in the relevant courts as soon as possible.
