Kimrie Cryer is a valued member of our team at Thomson Wilks, having been with the firm since January 2019. Kimrie specialises primarily in commercial law with a focus on litigation. Kimrie holds an LLBfrom the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and has completed additional courses in Commercial and Contract Law through the University of Cape Town.
Kimrie has a strong background in litigious matters, successfully representing clients at all levels of South Africa's judicial system, including the Magistrates Court, High Court, Supreme Court of Appeal, and Constitutional Court. She holds right of appearance in the High Court and is well-versed in appearing personally in various courts. Additionally, Kimrie has a distinguished history in arbitration proceedings, having represented clients in numerous complex cases.
With particular expertise in Franchise Law and Property Law, Kimrie has handled a diverse range of property-related disputes, from complex eviction matters to sophisticated property litigation. Her commercial law practice encompasses shareholder disputes, franchisee disputes, commercial contract drafting, and corporate governance matters.
