Maria D’Amico is a senior legal practitioner with extensive experience in commercial law and company law (contracts and litigation), franchising and is also a mediator.

In addition, Maria has received the Best Lawyers awards for several years, including for 2025, in franchising law and is presently the chairperson of the Franchise Association of South Africa (FASA).  

Maria holds a BA (LLB) from the University of Witwatersrand, is a qualified English Solicitor on the non-practicing role for UK solicitors, obtained an accredited law degree in Canada, is a Civil and Commercial Mediator (having obtained her certification from the ADR - Alternative Dispute Resolution group in London) and has obtained her Corporate Governance diploma through the Corporate Governance Institute of Ireland. Maria has also sat as an acting judge to the High Court of South Africa (Gauteng Local Division, Johannesburg).
