Massive changes afoot for critical skilled workers list in South Africa….

Recent updates to immigration law in South Africa has seen massive changes to the critical skills list – this now includes a focus on Information Technology Sector, Accounting and Auditing Sectors and Engineering Fields.

This change in the critical skills list has brought about some huge problems however some positives as well.

Unfortunately, people who were once were part of the critical skills list that have been residing in South Africa but are still awaiting their permanent residence in South Africa, have to leave their jobs and South Africa. Surprisingly despite protests by the South African Veterinary Council such professionals include vets.

On the other hand, many new professions have been added to the critical skills list, which has opened up opportunities to enter South Africa and fill these positions under the critical skills visa.
