Dimitri Cavvadas is a highly regarded dual qualified (SA and UK) corporate and commercial lawyer, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and capital markets transactions across various sectors including the natural resources, life sciences and technology sectors. Having worked for the London and Johannesburg offices of international law firms, Dimitri has extensive cross-border transactional experience.
His expertise includes working on equity capital raisings on the JSE and other international exchanges for SA and off-shore listed entities. Dimitri also has in-depth expertise with transaction structuring and implementation, legal and regulatory due diligence investigations, compliance with applicable securities laws, and the regulatory aspects of transaction implementation based on the underlying jurisdiction involved.
Working with issuers, underwriters, corporate advisors and companies seeking to transact in Africa, he leverages his extensive transactional experience to advise clients on legal risks.
Dimitri’s commercial experience also involves drafting a broad range of commercial agreements including agreements to establish BEE structures in South Africa, sector specific agreements such as royalty, earn-in and joint venture agreements in the natural resources sector and general corporate commercial agreements such as MOI’s and shareholders agreements.
